Tabernacle Challenge
The Tabernacle Challenge is a MOVEMENT across the state of New Hampshire to return love for LOVE.
Jesus, in His unimaginable LOVE and desire to be with us, has left Himself in the Holy Eucharist until the end of time. He resides in every Tabernacle in every Catholic Church throughout the world. But sadly, in many places He is left alone.
St. Manuel Garcia, “Bishop of the abandoned tabernacle” and patron of this project, expressed it well.
“My faith was looking at Jesus through the door of that tabernacle, so silent, so patient, so good, gazing right back at me… His gaze was telling me much and asking me for more. It was a gaze in which all the sadness of the Gospels was reflected… His gaze expressed the sorrow of One who loves, but who does not find anybody who wants to receive that love.”
Jesus revealed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque that His greatest suffering was the indifference of His people to His Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and His desire to pour out grace upon souls who would come to His Sacred, Eucharistic Heart with love and gratitude.
